About us
The former Austrian Minister of Health, Youth and Family and NPC Vice President Maria Rauch-Kallat is the new President of the Austrian Paralympic Committee.
One main focus of her work will be the promotion of Youth and Children with disabilities as well as encouraging women.
Vision
The Paralympic slogan „Spirit in Motion“ stands for the top performances of Paralympic athletes which can only be achieved through strength of will, motivation and total concentration on top sports competition for people with disabilities, the Paralympic Games.Ability
Ability is to overcome personal limitations, will-power is the motor for each top level athlete, with disabilities or not, in training, competition and life.
The Austrian Paralympic Committee overcomes its limits by seeking to place sports for athletes with disabilities on the same level as sports for athletes without disabilities. Access for all athletes needs to be the same!
Challenge
The biggest challenge for any top athlete is to compete at Paralympic Games.
The biggest challenge of the Austrian Paralympic Committee is to raise the funds for sending athletes with visual impairment or physical disabilities and to organise the delegations.
Excellence
The biggest success and highlight of any sporting career is to win Paralympic medals.
These successes together with the achievements of the Austrian Paralympic Committee raise the awareness for and acceptance of sports for people with disabilities in our society.
