Countdown for VANCOUVER 2010
150 days to go for the opening ceremony in Vancouver and the preparations for the upcoming events are on high speed. Canada has got the acceptance for holding the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2010 and will give a great show to the world. Let us give you a small overview of the upcoming events we can expect in 2009 and 2010.
Sumi (from the Salish word “Sumesh” which means “guardian spirit.”), the Mascot of the X. Winter-Paralympic Games, is a mythical creature with the elements of an orca whale, the bear and the thunderbird.
The motto With Glowing Hearts” - “Des plus brillants exploits” (bilingual because English and French are the official national languages) represents the pride and the sense of honour felt by the Canadians, that they can be a part of the great Olympic and Paralympic ideas. These might be the same feelings and thoughts of the athletes, who are allowed to attend those games.
